George Soros’s “Open Society” Philosophy
Since 1979, George Soros has donated more than $32 billion through the Open Society Foundations. He explicitly seeks to build “open societies” by weakening strong national borders, traditional law-and-order policies, and national sovereignty — viewing them as obstacles to global openness.
Reid Hoffman’s Funding Activities
Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn and a major Silicon Valley billionaire, has become one of the Democratic Party’s most prolific donors. His political spending includes:
Tens of millions to Democratic PACs, super PACs, and state parties (including being the largest donor to the Wisconsin Democratic Party with over $15 million since 2019).
Significant contributions to groups supporting progressive prosecutors, expanded mail-in voting, and opposition to voter-ID laws.
Millions funneled into anti-Trump efforts, Future Forward super PAC, and other Democratic infrastructure projects.
Partnerships with Soros-aligned networks on key causes, including media/disinformation projects and Democratic organizing.
Hoffman’s funding, like Soros’s, flows heavily into efforts that prioritize globalist “open society” priorities over strict national sovereignty and citizen-first policies.
The Crucial Distinction & Ah Ha Moment
A closed society under a dictator (like North Korea) is tyrannical — one man’s arbitrary will rules everything. That is evil.
But a closed society under the U.S. Constitution is the opposite. The Constitution is deliberately “closed” to unlimited change. It sets permanent guardrails: limited government, secure borders, equal application of the law, and individual rights that no billionaire or politician can erase. Those fixed rules are what make liberty possible.
Soros and Hoffman’s “Open Society” vision wants to pry those guardrails open.
This is why you see coordinated “No Kings” protests against President Trump — while the very same politicians who scream “No Kings!” gave a three-minute standing ovation to a literal king.
On April 28, 2026, King Charles III addressed a joint session of Congress. Democrats who champion Open Society ideals stood and applauded enthusiastically for the British monarch.
Yet during President Trump’s address, when he asked members of Congress to stand if they agreed that “the first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens,” nearly every Democrat remained seated.
The same lawmakers who refused to stand for Angel Moms who lost children to illegal immigrant crime, or for a child battling cancer, or for the simple principle that American citizens come first — gave a prolonged, thunderous ovation to an actual king in their chamber.
That is not random hypocrisy. That is the Open Society philosophy in action: borders, sovereignty, and “closed” constitutional priorities are the real enemy. A king symbolizing global elite cooperation is celebrated.
